NOT JUST TECHNICAL LESSONS

Photography is not only about settings, software, or rules.

Technique matters. Understanding your camera, composition, Lightroom, Photoshop, and editing tools can make a big difference. But many photographers do not struggle only because they lack technical knowledge.

They struggle because they feel unsure: unsure what makes a photograph work, unsure how to edit without overdoing it, unsure how to build consistency, and unsure how to develop their own eye.

This session is designed to help you slow down, look at your photography more clearly, and understand what your next step should be.

WHAT WE CAN WORK ON

Every session is personal, so we shape it around where you are right now.

Develop your eye

Composition, visual balance, light, atmosphere, storytelling, and understanding what makes an image work.

Edit with intention

Lightroom, Photoshop, black and white, colour, contrast, atmosphere, mood, and knowing when to stop.

Find direction

Image review, portfolio feedback, confidence, consistency, style, and returning to photography after a break.

DEVELOP YOUR EYE

A stronger photograph often begins before editing.

It begins with how you notice light, how you frame a scene, what you include, what you leave outside, and where the viewer’s eye is allowed to rest.

In the session, we can look at your images together and ask simple but important questions: what is the photograph really about, where does the eye go first, what is helping the image, and what is distracting from it?

This kind of review can help you understand your own photography more clearly — not just what to fix, but what to keep developing.

EDITING WITH MORE INTENTION

Editing is not about making every photograph perfect. It is about bringing the image closer to the feeling of the moment.

We can look at your Lightroom or Photoshop workflow and explore how to shape light, shadow, contrast, colour, black and white tones, mood, distractions, and visual focus.

The aim is not to copy my editing style. The aim is to help you make better decisions with your own images. Sometimes that means doing less. Sometimes it means understanding where to guide the eye. Sometimes it means learning when to stop.

FROM FILE TO FEELING

Sometimes the edit is where the photograph starts to feel closer to the moment.

A raw file can look flat, quiet, or less emotional than the place felt when you were there. Editing helps shape the image toward what made you stop in the first place.

In a session, we can look at your own images in this way: not only asking what is technically correct, but what helps the photograph carry atmosphere, attention, and intention.

Questions before booking

Do I need to be advanced?

No. This is suitable for beginners, hobbyists, and photographers who are still finding their direction. The session will be adapted to your level.

What should I send before the session?

You can send a small selection of images, editing examples, or questions you want to discuss. You do not need to prepare anything complicated.

Can we focus only on editing?

Yes. If you want the whole session to focus on Lightroom, Photoshop, black and white, colour, or editing atmosphere, we can do that.
