I started writing this book when I was also a little lost.
For years I told myself I was still a photographer — even on the weeks I didn't pick up the camera. Even on the months I didn't edit. Even when life got busy and photography became something I used to do more often than I actually did.
One day I realised I wasn't writing a book to teach anyone anything. I was writing it to find my own way back.
The chapters came slowly. They were honest. They asked me the same questions I was hoping to answer.
If you've been there too — quietly missing photography while life pulled you elsewhere — this book is for you.
What’s inside.
Part I
Becoming a Photographer
Identity before technique. Why most photographers stop shooting — and how to stay.
Part II
The First Habit
Small sessions beat big plans. The 5-minute rule that protects your practice.
Part III
Designing Your Practice
Building an environment that makes photography happen naturally — even on busy days.
Part IV
The Habit System
The habit loop behind every photograph. Consistency in an inconsistent world.
Part V
Learning to See
Photographing the ordinary. Curiosity over perfection. Finding the extraordinary close to home.
Part VI
Creative Struggles
Plateaus, boredom, and creative droughts — and how to keep moving through them.
Part VII
The Long Game
Reviewing and refining your work. Building your personal style. How photography becomes a lifelong companion rather than a project that comes and goes.

A few lines from the book.
Photography doesn't grow from occasional inspiration, but from returning to the practice again and again.
Identity often arrives before permission.
Small actions, repeated over time, create the photographer you are growing into.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Ciprian.
I’m a landscape and cityscape photographer based in the UK. Over the past 13 years I’ve photographed in 35 countries, slowly building a body of work shaped by stillness, patience, and a deep respect for the quiet moments most people walk past.
I work in both colour and black and white — choosing each based on what the scene asks for.
I’ve always worked alongside a full-time job. Photography is not how I earn my living — it is how I stay connected to the world. That dual life is part of what shaped this book. I understand what it feels like to love this craft while struggling to make space for it.
The Quiet Photographer is my first book. It is for everyone walking the same path.
